Join the Tolland Fire Department

There is more than one way to serve your community.

The Tolland Fire Department is always looking for motivated people who want to help their neighbors. Whether you are interested in emergency response, medical care, scene support, traffic control, or helping behind the scenes, there may be a place for you here.

No prior experience is required. If you are willing to learn, work as part of a team, and show up when your community needs help, we would like to hear from you.

Ways to Get Involved

Firefighting
Firefighters respond to structure fires, alarms, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous conditions, storm-related emergencies, and other calls for service. Members receive training and work as part of a team to protect life and property.

EMS
EMS members provide emergency medical care to people in need, often during some of the worst moments of their lives. This is a great path for those interested in patient care, medical training, or serving the community in a direct and meaningful way.

Fire Police
Fire Police help keep emergency scenes safe by managing traffic, protecting responders, and helping control access around incidents. This role is critical at crashes, fires, road closures, public events, and other emergency scenes.

Auxiliary / Support Members
Not every important job happens on the fireground. Auxiliary and support members can assist with fundraising, events, rehab support, public education, recruitment, administrative tasks, and other department needs.

Not Sure Where You Fit?

That is completely fine! Fill out the form and a member of our recruiting team will contact you, answer your questions, and help you understand the different opportunities available.

You can also stop by the Tolland Fire Training Center, 191 Merrow Road, located on Route 195 across from Meeting House Commons, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or any Monday evening when training is in progress.
